How To Make Marzipan Filled Easter Bread Recipe

A soft and sweet bread filled with almond marzipan, perfect for Easter morning.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 8 oz marzipan

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and yeast

  2. In a small saucepan, heat milk and butter until warm and butter is melted. Add to dry ingredients

  3. Add eggs and stir until mixture forms a dough

  4. Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic

  5. Roll dough into a rectangle and place marzipan in the center

  6. Fold dough over the marzipan and press edges to seal

  7. Place on a greased baking sheet and let rise for 15-20 minutes

  8. Preheat oven to 375F and bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown

  9. Serve warm or cold
