Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 lb fresh salmon
- 2 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 bunch fresh dill, chopped
- 1 tsp crushed black peppercorns
Instructions
-
In a small bowl, mix together salt, sugar, dill, and crushed black peppercorns.
-
Place the salmon fillet in a shallow dish, skin-side down.
-
Rub the salt, sugar, dill, and pepper mixture evenly over the entire salmon fillet.
-
Cover the dish tightly with plastic wrap.
-
Place a weight on top of the salmon, such as a plate or a heavy can.
-
Refrigerate the salmon for 48 hours, flipping it halfway through. This will allow the flavors to infuse and the salmon to cure.
-
After 48 hours, remove the gravadlax from the dish and scrape off any excess marinade.
-
Slice the gravadlax thinly and serve on a platter.
-
Garnish with additional fresh dill, if desired.
-
Enjoy!
