Ingredients

  • 1 pound fiddleheads
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Clean the fiddleheads by removing any brown papery scales and trimming the ends.

  2. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil and blanch the fiddleheads for 2 minutes. Drain and rinse with cold water.

  3. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

  4. Add the blanched fiddleheads to the skillet and sauté for 5-7 minutes, until they are tender and lightly browned.

  5. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  6. Serve hot as a tasty appetizer or side dish.
