Ingredients

  • 1 small cabbage, finely chopped
  • 2 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup fresh grated coconut
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them crackle.

  2. Add the diced potatoes and cook until they are slightly golden brown.

  3. Add the chopped cabbage and mix well.

  4. Cover the pan and cook on medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  5. Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt. Mix well.

  6. Cook for another 5 minutes or until the cabbage is cooked and the flavors are well blended.

  7. Add the grated coconut and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes.

  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.

  9. Serve hot with roti or rice.
