Ingredients

  • 2 cups pearl onions, peeled
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the onions for 5 minutes. Drain and set aside.

  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.

  3. Gradually whisk in the milk and cook until thickened, about 3-4 minutes.

  4. Stir in the cooked onions and frozen peas. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, until heated through.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese before serving.
