Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp yeast
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp olive oil
Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

Gradually add the warm water, mixing until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C) and place a baking stone or baking sheet in the oven to preheat.

Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces and shape into balls. Roll each ball into a 6-inch round.

Carefully transfer the rounds onto the preheated baking stone or sheet and bake for 6-8 minutes, or until puffed and lightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let pittas cool slightly before serving.
