Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 whole turkey (about 10-12 pounds)
  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 apples, cored and quartered
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

Instructions

  2. Pour the apple cider over the turkey. Drizzle the melted butter all over the turkey.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the salt, dried thyme, dried rosemary, and black pepper. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the turkey, rubbing it into the skin.

  4. Stuff the cavity of the turkey with the quartered apples, onions, and minced garlic.

  5. Cover the turkey loosely with foil and roast in the preheated oven for 2 and a half hours.

  7. Remove the turkey from the oven and let it rest for 20 minutes before carving. Serve with the pan juices.
