Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

  2. Add the diced onion, minced garlic, and diced bell pepper to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are tender.

  3. Add the kidney beans, black beans, diced tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper (if using), salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.

  4. Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

  5. Taste and adjust the seasonings if needed.

  6. Serve hot with your favorite toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, and diced onions.
