  • 500g mutton, cut into pieces
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 liter water or chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until golden brown.

  2. Add mutton pieces to the pot and cook until browned on all sides.

  3. Stir in peanut butter, ground ginger, curry powder, chili powder, and turmeric powder. Cook for 2-3 minutes to toast the spices and coat the meat.

  4. Pour in water or chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and let simmer for 1 hour or until the mutton is tender.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If desired, blend a portion of the soup to thicken it.

  6. Serve hot, garnished with fresh cilantro.
