Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 25 minutes
Total: 45 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a shallow dish, combine the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Dip each shrimp in the flour, then in the beaten eggs, and finally coat it with the breadcrumb mixture.

  4. Heat some oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Fry the breaded shrimp until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  5. Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Arrange the fried shrimp on top of the sauce.

  6. Spoon more marinara sauce over the shrimp, and sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  8. Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
