Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 cans of sardines in olive oil
  • 1 cup of watercress leaves
  • 1 lemon, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and toast in the oven until crispy, about 5 minutes.

  3. Meanwhile, drain the oil from the sardines and place them in a bowl. Break the sardines into smaller pieces.

  4. In a separate bowl, toss the watercress leaves with lemon juice, salt, and pepper.

  5. Spread the sardines evenly on the toasted bread slices.

  6. Top each slice with a handful of watercress leaves.

  7. Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with a slice of lemon.

  8. Serve immediately.
