How To Make Oven-Baked Fish & Chips

Ingredients

  • 4 fillets of white fish (such as cod or haddock)
  • 4 medium potatoes, cut into thick strips
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp of paprika
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil, for brushing
  • Tartar sauce and lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a wire rack on a baking sheet.

  2. In a shallow bowl, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Dip each fish fillet into the beaten eggs, then coat with the flour mixture, pressing it on gently.

  4. Place the coated fish fillets on the wire rack. Brush lightly with vegetable oil.

  5. In a separate bowl, toss the potato strips with a little vegetable oil, salt, and pepper.

  6. Arrange the potato strips on another baking sheet in a single layer.

  7. Place both the fish fillets and potato strips in the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and the chips are crispy and golden brown.

  8. Serve the oven-baked fish & chips with tartar sauce and lemon wedges.
