How To Make Lemon-scented Fish & Chips

Ingredients

  • 4 fish fillets
  • 2 lemons
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 4 large potatoes
  • Salt, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

  2. Slice one lemon and set aside.

  3. In a shallow dish, mix flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

  4. Dip each fish fillet in the flour mixture, coating both sides.

  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  6. Fry the fish fillets until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

  7. In the meantime, peel and cut the potatoes into thick-cut chips.

  8. Toss the potato chips with salt and spread them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden and crispy.

  10. Serve the fish fillets with the lemon slices and accompany with the homemade chips.
