How To Make Mussels in White Wine Sauce Recipe

A classic French seafood dish with flavorful white wine sauce.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs of fresh mussels
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup white wine
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • A handful of fresh parsley leaves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Clean and debeard mussels, discard any open ones.

  2. In a large saucepan, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.

  3. Add chopped onions and sauté for 2-3 minutes until softened. Add garlic and continue cooking for another minute.

  4. Add white wine, chicken broth, salt, and pepper to the pan and bring it to a simmer.

  5. Add mussels and cover the pan. Cook until the mussels have opened, about 5-6 minutes.

  6. Discard any unopened mussels.

  7. Stir in chopped parsley and serve hot with bread.
