- 8 slices of white bread
- 4 tablespoons of butter
- 8 slices of ham
- 4 slices of Swiss cheese
- 1 cup of béchamel sauce (see recipe below)
- Dijon mustard, to taste
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions

Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Spread one side of each bread slice with butter.

Place four slices of bread, buttered side down, on the skillet.

Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on the unbuttered side of each slice.

Top each slice of bread with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese.

Spread a generous amount of béchamel sauce on the other four slices of bread, then place them sauce-side down on top of the cheese.

Cook until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Remove from the skillet, slice diagonally, and serve hot.
