How To Make Croque Monsieur

Swap your ordinary ham and cheese sandwich with Croque monsieur, a leveled up dish with dijon mustard. It’s coated in egg and fried until crisp and melty.

  • 3tbspmayonnaise
  • 2tspdijon mustard
  • 8slicesfirm white bread
  • 4slicesswiss cheese
  • 8slicesdeli ham
  • 4tbspbutter
  • 3eggs
  • ½cupmilk


  1. Mix mayo and mustard together in a small bowl. Spread onto 4 bread slices. Add cheese and ham to each bread slice. Place the other slice of bread on top of the ham.

  2. Meanwhile, whisk eggs and milk in a pie plate until well blended.

  3. Place butter in a skillet and melt.

  4. Dip each sandwich in egg mixture (make sure all sides are coated), then place in buttered pan. Fry until golden brown on both sides.
