Ingredients

  • 8 slices rye bread
  • 1/2 cup Thousand Island dressing
  • 1 lb sliced deli turkey
  • 1 cup sauerkraut
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 tbsp butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat a panini press or grill pan.

  2. Spread Thousand Island dressing on one side of each slice of bread.

  3. Layer turkey, sauerkraut, and Swiss cheese on half of the bread slices, dressing-side up.

  4. Top with remaining bread slices, dressing-side down.

  5. Spread softened butter on the outside of each sandwich.

  6. Grill the sandwiches in the panini press or grill pan until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted, about 4-5 minutes per side.

  7. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving.
