How To Make Homemade Croutons

Add flavor and texture to your salad with this homemade croutons recipe. You will only need whole-grain bread, shredded Parmesan, and a few seasonings!

Preparation: 2 minutes
Cooking: 28 minutes
Total: 30 minutes
Serves:

Ingredients

  • olive oil spray
  • 6slices100% whole grain bread
  • 1tspgarlic powder
  • sea salt,to taste
  • 3-4tspItalian seasoning,or dried parsley
  • ¼cupparmesan cheese,shredded
  • fresh black pepper,to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat over to 300 degrees F.

  2. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray.

  3. Remove the crust and cut the bread into small cubes.

  4. Combine the garlic powder, salt, and Italian seasoning in a medium bowl.

  5. Spread the bread cubes on prepared cookie sheet in a single layer.

  6. Spray the top with more oil to coat and top with half of the seasoning and half of the shredded cheese; season with black pepper then bake for about 14 minutes or until dry, crispy, and golden brown.

  7. Turn the croutons over, spray a little more oil and sprinkle with remaining seasoning, black pepper and shredded cheese; bake for another 14 minutes until done.

  8. Store croutons in an air-tight container or ziplock bag. Makes 4 cups.
