How To Make Citrus Avocado Salad

Try this healthy avocado salad recipe that is filled with the tartness of citrus and the refreshing taste of mint and basil!

For Salad:

  • 5ozmixed greens
  • 2largeruby-red grapefruitsor oranges or mangoes, peeled and chopped
  • 1largeavocadoripe, peeled, pitted, and sliced
  • 1handfulfresh basil leavesroughly chopped
  • 1handfulfresh mint leavesroughly chopped
  • ½mediumred onionthinly sliced
  • ½cupalmondssliced or slivered, toasted
  • sesame seedstoasted, optional topping

For Vinaigrette:

  • 2tbspavocado oilor olive oil, or any other mild-flavored oil
  • 1tbsplow-sodium soy sauce
  • 1tbsprice vinegar
  • 2tspmaple syrupor honey
  • ½tspsesame oiltoasted
  • ¼tspground ginger
  • ¼tspgarlic powder
  • sea salt and freshly-cracked black pepperto taste



  1. Whisk all ingredients together in a bowl (or shake together in a mason jar) until combined. 

  2. Taste and add additional sweetener if desired. Use immediately or refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 3 days.


  1. Combine all ingredients in a large salad bowl, drizzle evenly with the vinaigrette, and toss until evenly combined. 

  2. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds plus an extra twist of freshly-cracked black pepper. Serve immediately and enjoy!
