Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup soybean meal
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup diced onions
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, pickles, and sliced tomatoes, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, soybean meal, bread crumbs, diced onions, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.

  2. Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.

  3. In a deep skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat.

  4. Carefully place the patties in the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5 minutes per side.

  5. Remove the patties from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

  6. Toast the hamburger buns in a skillet or toaster.

  7. Place each slugburger patty on a toasted bun and serve with mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise, pickles, and sliced tomatoes.
