Ingredients

  • 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, for garnishing
  • 2 tablespoons oil

Instructions

  1. In a pan, heat oil and sauté the chopped onions until golden brown.

  2. Add the ginger-garlic paste and green chilies. Cook for 2 minutes.

  3. Add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates.

  4. Add the turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Cook for another 2 minutes.

  5. Add the prawns and cook until they turn pink and are cooked through.

  6. Pour in the coconut milk and simmer for 5-7 minutes on low heat.

  7. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

  8. Serve hot with rice or roti.
