Ingredients

  • 6 slices of raisin bread
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1/4 cup of maple syrup
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp of nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/2 cup of raisins
  • Powdered sugar, for serving
  • Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a baking dish.

  2. Cut the raisin bread into cubes and place them in the prepared baking dish.

  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  4. Pour the egg mixture over the bread cubes, making sure all the cubes are coated. Gently press the cubes down to soak up the liquid.

  5. Sprinkle the raisins over the top of the bread cubes.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the custard is set.

  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Serve warm, dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with maple syrup.
