How To Make Classic Shepherd’s Pie

Ingredients
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 cups mashed potatoes (prepared ahead of time)
Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.

Add the onions, carrots, and garlic to the skillet and cook until the vegetables are softened.

Stir in the frozen peas, beef broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes.

Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and the filling is bubbling.

Allow the Shepherd’s Pie to cool for a few minutes before serving.
