How To Make Lemon & Five-Spice Chicken

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 2 lemons, juiced and zested
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp five-spice powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Chopped fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the lemon juice, lemon zest, soy sauce, honey, five-spice powder, salt, black pepper, minced garlic, and vegetable oil.

  2. Place the chicken breasts in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Massage the marinade into the chicken to ensure it is well coated. Let it marinate for 15 minutes.

  3. Preheat the grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  4. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through and the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

  5. Remove the chicken from the grill or skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

  6. Garnish with chopped fresh cilantro before serving.
