How To Make Five-spice, soy & lemon roast chicken

Ingredients
- 1 whole chicken (about 4 lbs)
- 2 tablespoons five-spice powder
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Pat dry the chicken with paper towels. Season it with salt, pepper, and five-spice powder, rubbing it all over.

In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, lemon juice, and olive oil.

Place the seasoned chicken in a roasting pan and pour the soy sauce mixture all over it.

Roast the chicken in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).

Baste the chicken with the pan juices every 20 minutes to ensure it stays moist and flavorful.

Once cooked, remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
