How To Make Ginger Pear

Baked pears with a sweet orange and ginger sauce, and crunchy walnuts.

  • 1 medium pear, peeled, halved, and cored
  • 1 tbsp orange juice
  • 2 tbsp gingersnaps, crushed
  • 1/2 tbsp walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 tbsp margarine , or butter


  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Place the pear halves, cut side up, in a baking dish.
  3. Drizzle the orange juice over the pears.
  4. In a small bowl, combine the gingersnaps, walnuts, and the margarine or butter.
  5. Sprinkle over the pears.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until the fruit is tender.
