Ingredients

  • 500g lamb, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely sliced
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until golden brown.

  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.

  4. Add lamb pieces and cook until browned on all sides.

  5. Add pureed tomatoes, turmeric powder, garam masala, chili powder, and salt. Mix well.

  6. Cover the pan and let the lamb cook on low heat for about 45 minutes, or until tender and cooked through.

  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice or roti.
