Yorkshire Curd Tart Recipe

How To Make Yorkshire Curd Tart

A classic British tart with a creamy curd filling and a buttery crust.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 250g curd cheese
  • 100g caster sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp grated nutmeg
  • Zest of 1 lemon
  • 200g shortcrust pastry
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a tart tin.

  2. In a bowl, mix the curd cheese, caster sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon zest until well combined.

  3. Roll out the shortcrust pastry and line the tart tin with it. Trim off any excess.

  4. Pour the curd mixture into the pastry case and spread it out evenly.

  5. Sprinkle the granulated sugar over the top of the tart.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until golden and set.

  7. Allow the tart to cool before serving.
