How To Make Marrow Chutney Recipe

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups marrow, diced
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 red chili, deseeded and chopped
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds and mustard seeds.

  2. Once they start to splutter, add onions, garlic, ginger, and red chili. Saute until onions turn translucent.

  3. Add diced marrow and cook for 5 minutes.

  4. Add turmeric powder, chili powder, vinegar, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

  5. Cover and simmer on low heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. Remove from heat and let it cool.

  7. Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.

  8. Serve the marrow chutney with your favorite dishes or as a spread on sandwiches.
