How To Make Lactose-Free Pizza

Who says vegetarians don’t get to enjoy savory meals? A taste of these authentic vegetarian recipes will make you change your mind. So, you just might want to go vegetarian after your first bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups lactose-free shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup lactose-free grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups gluten-free pizza crust mix
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup pizza sauce
  • Toppings of your choice (such as pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, onions)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. In a small bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the pizza crust mix, olive oil, salt, dried oregano, dried basil, garlic powder, onion powder, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using).

  4. Pour in the activated yeast mixture and mix well until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more pizza crust mix.

  5. Place the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  6. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each out into a thin round crust.

  7. Transfer the crusts onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  8. Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce onto each crust, leaving a small border around the edges.

  9. Sprinkle lactose-free shredded mozzarella cheese and lactose-free grated Parmesan cheese over the sauce.

  10. Add your desired toppings.

  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  12. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
