How To Make Bicerin

Who says vegetarians don’t get to enjoy savory meals? A taste of these authentic vegetarian recipes will make you change your mind. So, you just might want to go vegetarian after your first bite.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 shots of espresso
  • 4 cups of whole milk
  • 4 tablespoons of granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until hot, but not boiling.

  2. In a separate saucepan, mix the sugar and cocoa powder together. Gradually whisk in the hot milk until smooth. Heat the mixture over medium-low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly.

  3. Meanwhile, prepare the espresso shots.

  4. In each serving glass, layer 1 shot of espresso, followed by a ladle of hot chocolate mixture.

  5. In a chilled mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract together until stiff peaks form.

  6. Top each glass with a dollop of whipped cream.

  7. Serve immediately.
