How To Make Vegetarian Sausage Rolls
A delicious and flavorful meat-free alternative to traditional sausage rolls.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 pack of vegetarian sausages
- 1 sheet of pre-made puff pastry
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 clove of garlic, minced
- 1 tsp of dried thyme
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp of olive oil
- 1 tbsp of soy sauce
- 1 tbsp of tomato paste
- 1 tbsp of Dijon mustard
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
-
Add the vegetarian sausages to the pan and cook until browned, breaking them up with a spoon.
-
Stir in the dried thyme, salt, pepper, soy sauce, tomato paste, and Dijon mustard. Cook for another 2 minutes.
-
Roll out the puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. Cut it in half lengthwise.
-
Divide the sausage mixture evenly onto each half of the puff pastry.
-
Roll the pastry tightly around the sausage mixture and seal the edges by pressing lightly with your fingers.
-
Cut each roll into smaller pieces, about 1-2 inches long, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
-
Brush the sausage rolls with beaten egg to give them a golden shine.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden.
-
Serve hot and enjoy!
