  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1 cup beef or chicken broth
  • 1 shallot, minced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.

  2. Add the minced shallot and garlic, and cook until translucent.

  3. Pour in the red wine and bring to a simmer. Let it cook for about 5 minutes to reduce and concentrate the flavors.

  4. Add the broth to the saucepan and continue simmering for another 20 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly.

  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. Strain the sauce to remove any solids before serving.

  7. Serve the red wine jus alongside your favorite meat dishes.
