Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon melted butter
  • 4 slices ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Butter or oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.

  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or oil.

  5. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet and spread it into a circle.

  6. Place a slice of ham and a sprinkle of shredded cheese on top of the pancake.

  7. Cook for 2-3 minutes until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

  8. Repeat with the remaining batter, ham, and cheese.

  9. Serve hot with maple syrup or your favorite topping.
