  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease a donut pan with cooking spray.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

  4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until well-combined.

  5. In a small mixing bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon.

  6. Pour melted butter into a separate small bowl and granulated sugar into a third small bowl.

  7. Use a spoon to distribute the batter evenly into the donut pan.

  8. Dip the top of each donut into melted butter, then into the cinnamon-sugar mixture, and finally into the granulated sugar. Place back into the donut pan.

  9. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  10. Let cool for a few minutes before removing from the pan.
