How To Make Catfish Stew Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 lb catfish fillets, cut into chunks
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 bell peppers, diced
  • 2 stalks of celery, chopped
  • 2 medium tomatoes, diced
  • 4 cups of fish or vegetable broth
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, bell pepper, and celery. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. Add tomatoes, broth, salt, paprika, and cayenne pepper. Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Cook for 15 minutes.

  3. Add catfish chunks and simmer for an additional 15-20 minutes until fish is cooked through and vegetables are tender.

  4. Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
