Ingredients

  • 200g sponge cake, cut into cubes
  • 4 tbsp sherry
  • 500ml ready-made custard
  • 200g mixed berries (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries)
  • 300ml whipping cream
  • 2 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • shaved chocolate, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a trifle dish, place a layer of sponge cake cubes.

  2. Drizzle 1 tbsp of sherry over the cake.

  3. Spoon half of the custard over the cake.

  4. Add a layer of mixed berries.

  5. Repeat steps 1-4 for a second layer.

  6. In a separate bowl, whip the cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

  7. Spread the whipped cream over the trifle.

  8. Garnish with shaved chocolate.

  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
