Ingredients

  • 1 cup of white rice
  • 4 cups of whole milk
  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Ground cinnamon, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring the rice and water to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and let it simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is tender.

  2. In another saucepan, combine the cooked rice, milk, sugar, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.

  3. Cook the rice mixture for 10 minutes, or until it thickens to a creamy consistency.

  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Discard the cinnamon stick.

  5. Pour the rice pudding into serving dishes and let it cool to room temperature.

  6. Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top before serving.
