  • 4 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, cinnamon, melted butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix until well combined.

  3. Spread half of the mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

  4. Arrange the sliced apples over the crust in a single layer.

  5. Sprinkle the remaining crust mixture over the apples.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.

  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares.

  8. Serve warm or at room temperature.
