Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 2 hours
Total: 2 hours 20 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 large quince fruits
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Wash the quince fruits and cut them into quarters, removing the cores and seeds.

  2. Place the quince quarters in a large pot and add water.

  3. Bring the pot to a boil over high heat, then reduce heat and let simmer for 1 hour, until quinces are tender and water has reduced.

  4. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Blend the cooked quinces until smooth.

  5. Return the puree to the pot and add sugar and lemon juice.

  6. Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens and reaches a jelly-like consistency, about 1 hour.

  7. Remove from heat and let cool for 10 minutes.

  8. Pour the jelly into sterilized jars and let cool completely before sealing.

  9. Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
