How To Make Fig and Rosemary Focaccia

This focaccia combines the sweet flavor of figs with fragrant rosemary.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp instant yeast
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 6 dried figs, sliced
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, chopped
  • course sea salt

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, and salt. Add olive oil and water, and mix well.

  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

  4. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  5. Punch down the dough, and then stretch it out into a rectangular shape. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  6. Press the sliced figs and rosemary into the dough, and sprinkle with sea salt.

  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown.

  8. Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
