Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
Total: 20 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brandy
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 4 scoops vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine the cherries, sugar, and brandy. Cook over medium heat until the cherries release their juices and the sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes.

  2. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the cherries and cook for another 2 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.

  3. Stir in the lemon juice and remove from heat.

  4. To serve, scoop vanilla ice cream into serving bowls and top with the warm cherries and syrup.
