  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Gradually add in the flour and salt, mixing until just combined.

  4. Stir in the vanilla extract until the dough comes together.

  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  6. Use a fork to gently press down on each ball, creating a crisscross pattern on top.

  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

  8. Allow the shortbread to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
