How To Make Iced Oatmeal Applesauce Cookies
Made with healthy oatmeal, these applesauce cookies are sweet yet healthy. They are made even sweeter with a smooth sugar and maple syrup icing.

For Cookies:
- 4tbspunsalted butter
- 1cuplight brown sugar
- ½cupgranulated sugar
- 1large egg
- ½cupchunky style applesauce
- 1½cupsold-fashioned rolled oats
- 1¼cupsall purpose flour
- ½tspbaking soda
- ¼tspbaking powder
- ¼tspcoarse salt
- 1cupgolden raisins
For Icing:
- 1¾cupsconfectioners’ sugar
- 3tbsppure maple syrup
- 3tbspwater
Instructions
Cookies:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Put butter and sugars in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment. Mix on low speed until combined.

Add egg and applesauce, mix until well blended. Mix in oats, flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Mix in raisins.

Using a 1½-inch ice cream scoop, drop dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper, spacing 2 inches apart. Bake cookies for 13 to 15 minutes until golden and just set.

Let cool on sheets 5 minutes. Transfer cookies to a wire rack set over parchment paper; let cool completely.
Icing:

Whisk confectioners’ sugar, syrup, and 3 tablespoons water until smooth. Drizzle over cookies, let set.
