Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup apricot preserves
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a square baking dish.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and salt. Add the cold butter pieces and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish to form a crust.

  4. Spread the apricot preserves evenly over the crust.

  5. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the preserves.

  6. Sprinkle the sliced almonds on top of the crumb mixture.

  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

  8. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
