How To Make Florentines

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup of sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup of dried cranberries
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of heavy cream
  • 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of orange zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 4 ounces of dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine almonds, cranberries, flour, sugar, butter, heavy cream, vanilla extract, orange zest, and salt. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

  3. Drop tablespoons of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie for spreading.

  4. Using the back of a spoon, flatten each cookie to about 1/4 inch thick.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

  6. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

  7. Once the cookies are cool, drizzle melted dark chocolate over each cookie in a decorative pattern.

  8. Let the chocolate set before serving.
