- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, bring the maple syrup and water to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 15-20 minutes, until the syrup reaches approximately 238°F on a candy thermometer.

Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool for 5 minutes.

Stir in the vanilla extract.

Using a spoon or a candy mold, pour the mixture into small candy molds or onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Let the candies sit at room temperature for about 1 hour or until fully hardened.
