Ingredients

  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

  3. In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the coffee, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the chopped walnuts.

  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
