How To Make Orange Frosted Panettone Cake

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1/4 cup freshly squeezed orange juice
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp orange juice
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- orange slices, for garnish
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add softened butter and mix until mixture resembles crumbs.

In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, orange zest, and orange juice. Pour into the flour mixture and stir until just combined.

Transfer the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

In the meantime, prepare the frosting by whisking together powdered sugar, softened butter, orange juice, orange zest, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

Once the cake is cooled, spread the frosting on top of the cake using a spatula. Garnish with orange slices.
