  • 1 loaf of panettone, sliced into 1-inch thick pieces
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract
  • 1/4 cup of sliced almonds
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting
  • Maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract.

  2. Dip the slices of panettone into the egg mixture, allowing them to soak for a few seconds on each side.

  3. In a large non-stick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat.

  4. Add the soaked panettone slices to the skillet and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side.

  5. Repeat with the remaining slices, adding more butter as needed.
